Reverend Lymon Gaines Jr.

 Pastor Lymon Gaines Jr. was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.

 Born again at a young age and baptized at the Zion Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio under the late Rev. Dr. L.V. Booth and remained there until 1980 and became a member of the Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Cincinnati, Ohio under the leadership of Pastor Rev. Dr. Cecil Ferrell.  

Pastor Gaines is married to a beautiful and supportive wife, Wanda, and are thankful parents of two, a Daughter and Son, with seven grandchildren between the two and three great grandchildren.

While at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Gaines served as a Sunday School Teacher and was appointed to serve on the Deacon Board and was ordained.

In September 1982, he announced his calling into the Ministry, preached his trial sermon in October 1982 and was ordained in January 1984.

Under the leadership of Pastor Cecil Ferrell, he served as follows:
Vice President of the Missionary Society;
Soldiers of Light (ministry to the sick and shut-in); Youth Counselor;
Served in Community Services;
Prison Ministry at the Hamilton County Justice Center. 

As a Youth Leader He Helped Establish:
     Youth Program
    TAPS (Teens Against Premarital Sex)
    Youth Planning Committee
    Young Adult Bible Group
    Scholarship Program

 On June 28, 1997, Rev. Gaines was called to be the pastor at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Addyston, Ohio.

 On October 10, 2003, the Holy Spirit intervened and placed Rev. Gaines at the First Baptist Church of Hartwell, Cincinnati, Ohio, where he presently serves.

Graduated from Hughes High School, Cincinnati, Ohio in June 1969. 
Graduated from Temple Bible College in June 1999 and earned a BA Degree, Certificate of Study in Bible and Diploma in Bible.

 Continuous education at the Andersonville Baptist Seminary - pursuing a Master of Theology and Pastoral Theology.

 Attended 4 years of Trade School - Received Certification as a Master Heat and Frost Insulator.

 Retired from Duke Energy on March 1, 2016 after 29 years of service. 

 Served as a member of TRAM (Three Rivers Area Ministries), located in the Addyston, Ohio community.

 Serves on the HOA Board (Home Owners Association) as Treasurer for the Country Oaks Community.

 Served as the Chairperson for the W. U. B. D. A.  Scholarship Program and Scholarship Banquet Committee.

 Pastor Gaines loves to preach and teach, and will often be seen playing his saxophone at church or at some musical concert. He and his wife love riding their motorcycle in their spare time.

 Truly the Lord has brought me from a mighty long way and to Him I give all honor, glory and praise.
