Rev. Dr. Oliver R. Williams acknowledged his calling of God to the Ministry on December 25, 1977.  His first was delivered on January 15, 1978 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, in Lincoln Heights, Ohio.  He was licensed to preached on January 22, 1978, and was ordained on September 9, 1979.

Rev. Dr. Williams is a graduate of the Old Lockland Wayne High School.  He recieved his Certificate of Study from the Temple Community Bible College, his BA degree in theology also from the Temple Community Bible College.  He also has a degree in Management, Public Speaking and Communications.  In December, 2000 he received a doctorate of Humanities from Hopkins College of the Bible, Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

In addition to educational accomplishments. Rev. Dr. Williams serves as  Moderator of the Western Union Baptist District Association, Board of Trustees and Treasurer of the COIC Foundation, member of Lincoln Heights and Vicinity Ministers Conference, Stewardship Board of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc., Board of Directors of Good Rest Mission (Haiti), Board of Directors of Tiny B. Love Fund of Greater Cincinnati Foundation, Director of Lo-Char Scholarship Fund, 2nd Vice-President, Christian Education of Ohio Baptist General Convention and President of Friendship Plaza, Inc.

Under the guidance of the holy Spirit, Rev. Doc. Williams has guided the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church into the foreign mission field, primarily ministering in the country of Haiti.  Through his diligent work and efforts in Haiti, he has planned and formulated the following:  feeding programs, educational programs, Christmas fund for the orphans and most importantly, the promoting and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Also under his leadership, Friendship Plaza, a 30-unit senior citizen apartment complex is scheduled for completion sometimes in 2002.
