Born September 1, 1941 in the West End of Cincinnati, Ohio. The fourth child of Albert and Ruth Pankey. Attended the Cincinnati Public School system and graduated from the Robert A. Taft High School, class of 1959. Joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged from active duty in 1962, and serve three more years in the Navy Reserve.
Married Inez McGuire on October 8, 1966 and joined his wife at First Baptist Church of Kennedy Heights in December 1968, and was baptized in January 1969. Where he was a faithful servant. The proud father of (5) children and (17) grandchildren and (4) great-grandchildren.
During service at the First Baptist Church of Kennedy Heights, he served on the Deacon Board for (12) years, sang in the Choir, and with the Male Chorus. Served as the Education Director until being called into the Gospel Ministry in November 1985. Received his Certificate of License on February 2, 1986, and was Ordained on May 29, 1988. Served as an Associate Minister until he received the call to Pastor the New St. John Baptist Church on January 1, 1994.
Pastor Pankey received the "Pastor of the Year" award from the Baptist Minister's Conference of Greater Cincinnati & Vicinity for the year of 1999. Served as Financial Secretary of the Baptist Minister's Conference, 1st Vice-President and is serving presently as the President. Serves as the Dean of the First District Sunday School Convention, Advisor for the Hamilton County Missionary Society, and the Cincinnati District. Served as Dean of the Western Union Baptist District Association Congress of Christian Education, of the Ohio Baptist General Convention. And elected Moderation of the Western Union Baptist Association in their annual session in July 2008.
